Description

The drive interface (DI) electronic control unit (ECU) reduces acceleration because it detects a potential pedal misapplication (when the user presses the accelerator in Drive or Reverse when they meant to press the brake).

Potential Impact

The DI ECU limits torque/acceleration.

Set Condition

The DI ECU detects that the accelerator pedal was pressed past the set threshold and the driver assistance system (DAS) detects an object with a high enough level of confidence.

Clear Condition

Either the DAS ECU no longer detects an object, or the user releases the accelerator pedal and then presses it again to override the alert.
