Description
The Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS) electronic control unit (ECU) is not receiving the expected controller area network (CAN) messages from the Restraint Control Module (RCM) on the CAN bus.
Potential Impact
Steering assist may be reduced or may not function as expected. Since External Angle Control (EAC) requests may be rejected, Autopilot features may be unavailable or may not function as expected.
Set Condition
The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) ECU does not receive the expected CAN messages from the RCM on the CAN bus.
Clear Condition
The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) ECU begins receiving the expected CAN messages from the RCM on the CAN bus.
