How to Recalibrate Your Tesla’s Window Regulator
Are your power windows malfunctioning? Does the app report they're open when they appear closed, or do the windows rub or scrape when you open a door? These symptoms often indicate the window regulator needs to be recalibrated.

Many online videos recommend holding the window switch for 15–30 seconds, but the following procedure comes directly from Tesla’s do-it-yourself guidance.
To recalibrate a window regulator:
1. Close the door that has the affected window.
2. Sit in the driver’s seat and close the driver door.
3. Use the driver’s window switch to raise the affected window until it stalls.
4. Use the driver’s window switch to lower the affected window until it stalls.
5. Use the driver’s window switch to raise the affected window until it stalls.
The window should now be calibrated. If the problem persists after a couple of attempts, contact Tesla for further assistance.
