Tesla is set to unveil new icons that will alert drivers when their attention is needed. Additionally, the company is planning to eliminate the 'Beta' label from its Autosteer feature.

After more than a decade, Tesla seems poised to eliminate the Beta safety measures from its fundamental Autopilot functions for the first time. In a thorough analysis of the 2025.38 software update by Tesla enthusiasts...

Tesla is on the verge of a significant milestone as it prepares to remove the Beta label from its core Autopilot features for the first time in over a decade. The recent 2025.38 software update, analyzed by Tesla expert Greentheonly, reveals that Autosteer is likely to lose its Beta designation, indicating Tesla's confidence in its maturity as a standard, commercial-grade product.

Although Tesla has made adjustments to the safety terminology related to FSD, the removal of the Beta tag from Autosteer signifies a pivotal moment where Tesla deems the foundational software for Autopilot sufficiently developed for regular use. Despite this progress, Tesla maintains the on-screen warning prompting users to supervise Autosteer upon initial selection from the Autopilot menu.

In addition to the Beta removal, Tesla is enhancing its driver monitoring system to include smarter alerts, potentially paving the way for text-and-drive capabilities in the future. The updated system is expected to feature three levels of attention alerts - High Confidence (white head symbol, white eyes), Medium Confidence (white head symbol, red eyes), and Low Confidence (red head symbol, red eyes) - dynamically adjusting based on the vehicle's driving assessment.

Furthermore, a new warning message discovered in the code suggests geofenced limitations for FSD when approaching country borders. This development hints at upcoming FSD rollouts in Europe, starting with the Netherlands in February 2026, with plans for expansion across the EU. Geofencing will allow Tesla to activate FSD in compliant regions promptly, facilitating quicker adoption without waiting for universal EU approval.
