Users trying to access the platform encountered error messages like "Something went wrong. Try reloading," accompanied by a continuous spinning icon that prevented entry, as reported by Variety. Data from Downdetector showed a rapid surge in problem reports throughout the morning.
By 10:52 a.m. ET, over 100,000 users had reported issues with the platform. The data revealed that 56% of complaints were related to the mobile app, 33% to the website, and around 10% cited server connection problems. The disruption began around 10:10 a.m. ET, briefly eased at 10:35 a.m., only to return shortly after.
This recent outage is not an isolated incident for the platform, which has faced several high-profile service interruptions in the past two years. In previous instances, users encountered widespread errors, including "Internal server error/Error code 500" messages, as well as Cloudflare-related issues.
In a separate development, a federal judge has ruled that OpenAI Inc. and Microsoft will proceed to a jury trial following efforts to dismiss Elon Musk's lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that OpenAI abandoned its original nonprofit mission, misleading Musk about its charitable purpose while accepting substantial funding.
