However, Tesla's selection of video streaming apps is limited, excluding popular services like HBO Max and Prime Video. Fortunately, there is a workaround to access any streaming service on the rear display.
Tesla Theater primarily features apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and Hulu, which are essentially web browsers loading the streaming services. This means that any streaming service compatible with standard web browsers can be accessed on the rear display, including HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and others offering in-browser streaming.
To watch different streaming services on the rear screen, follow these steps:
1. Tap the Entertainment icon to access Tesla Theater.
2. Choose YouTube from the list of streaming services.
3. Within YouTube, tap the compass icon to access the main menu and then select "Privacy Policy."
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap on "Google" in the footer to access Google Search.
5. Search for the desired streaming service, such as HBO Max or Amazon Prime Video, and start streaming directly on the rear display.
This method leverages the rear screen's web content rendering capabilities, allowing you to enjoy a wider range of streaming services. Additionally, this workaround can also be used for web browsing on the rear display.
Please note that this process needs to be repeated each time you want to access a non-supported streaming service on the rear screen. However, Tesla's browser conveniently remembers logins, so you typically won't need to log in repeatedly. Just keep in mind that browser data is stored per driver profile.
